http://boogomatic.com/camping/1975 This picturesque campsite was occupied from August 6th to September 3rd in the year of our Lord 1954 by an Ontario Department of Mines survey party engaged in investigating the geology of the area. The party consisted of six men, under the command of H.D.Carlson, resident geologist, Kenora-Red Lake. Other members of the party included: D.A.Wilson BSc. McMaster University E.H.Chown Queen's University E.C.Appleyard University of Western Ontario A.V.W.Durnford University of Western Ontario L.C.Eady University of Manitoba (United College) Future campers visiting this site are directed to the ultra-modern conveniences erected for them by this party. These conveniences include: one extremely comfortable water-closet (water on rainy days only) one slop-hole only partly used one refrigerator pit numerous ready-cut tent poles many articles of rustic furniture, in partial disrepair.
